Description

You begin the game in a classic Metal Gear Solid-esque codec call between Roland and C.I.A  Agent Mateo Fernando Addams detailing the plan of action, you are to infiltrate The Indomitus Island Prison, located on an Island 40,000 miles north west of Russia. Your mission, to assassinate notorious war criminal Jerry Lockjaw, Rolands uncle. Once the cutscene ends, you make your way towards the innermost part of the prison. You start the game armed with only your fists which are pretty deadly but have very little reach when compared to the guns carried by the prison guards, so your best option is to sneak past them by avoiding their visibility radiuses. If you are caught, its not the end of the world as Roland is pretty tough and can take 3 hits before its a Game Over, and health can be filled again by collecting chocolate milk cartons scattered around the prison. As you approach Jerrys cell you will be able to pick up Rolands Iconic Revolver that will come in handy when you finally reach the boss fight with Uncle Jerry. The boss fight will see you hide behind pillars as Jerry shoots at you from one side of the room, If Jerry manages to hit you three times, Roland dies and the game ends with a "Bad Ending" cut scene. However if you manage to hit Jerry six times with either your fists or by shooting your revolver at him the game ends with  "Good Ending" Cut Scene.

Key Features

Classic Stealth Mechanics: Relive the fun of playing the original Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation 1 as you control an eye patched action hero as he takes care to stay out of sight of enemy guards.

Fully Voice Acted Cut Scenes: The Full Original Cast of Eternal Vengeance will reprise their roles for codec calls, cutscenes and basic gameplay, continuing the story began in the film. Original actor for Roland will voice every "ouch" and grunt that will play when the player is hit during the game.

Stealth Action: If the thought of hiding from bad guys doesn't sound cool enough, feel free to Beat enemies up with your fists or shoot them with a classic Dirty Harry style revolver.

Genre

Action-Adventure, Stealth, Indie, Comedy, Film Tie-In.

Platform

This game will only be available to play on P.C as it would cost too much to get a licence to make the game available on popular consoles such as X Box, Nintendo Switch or PlayStation. The game is bet suited to a keyboard and mouse control scheme. However I feel the games mechanics could easily be controlled on an X Box controller.

Resources Required

The Game requires the character models to look similar to the ones featured in the film, as such I will be using the Blender programme to model NPCs and PCs to fit in the games style. Voice Acting will need to be recorded, I have access to Adobe Audition and recording equipment that will allow me to capture the lines need for in game cutscenes. To make the actual game I will be using Unity. Both of these programmes are free to use.

  1. Hi Matthew I really like your idea for your project. It looks like you've put a lot of effort in research into this. I think the idea of having a game where we have to break out of prison sounds very cool. I think one someone looks at this idea it would be very intriguing to most people. I feel like this game will be great because it seems accessible to a wider audience and something that a lot of people would be into. I also feel like it will be a game that you would get addicted to quite easily as you really want to know what it's like when you break out of the prison.
