Introduction

"Polygondawanaland: The Video Game" is a fan made adaptation of the classic album King Gizzard album of the same name. The game aims to use trippy visuals and fun gameplay to pair with the music of the album creating an entirely new experience for both music fans and video game fans.

Background

In this game, you play as Kenny the Lizard Wizard as he journeys through Crumbling Castles and Deserted Dunes as he makes his way to his enchanted homeland known only as Polygondawanaland. Along his journey the player will have the Lizard Wizard avoid many harmful obstacles.

Description

You begin the game in the Crumbling Castle, as the song of the same name plays, Kenny must make his way out of the castle jumping over obstacles all the while increasing his high score, if th player manages to reach the end of the castle he will make it to level 2. Level 2 is a desert level which is accompanied by the song "Deserted Dunes Welcome Weary Feet". Level 3 is when players finally reach Polygandawanaland and discover it to be a fantastical land filled with psychedelic imagery all taking inspiration from the lyrics to the song.

Key Features

Fun and Simple Gameplay: Anyone who has played the Dinosaur game on Google can attest to the addictive and fun gameplay of the game, this is the same gameplay experience we hope to capture with our game.

Great Soundtrack: The album "Polygandawanaland" by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard will accompany the player as they play through the game. This album was released into the public domain and is therefore free to use.

Fun Visuals: This game aims to present the player with a truly psychedelic experience, players should feel that they have had a chilled experience at a Grateful Dead concert after playing.

Side Scroller.

Platform

This game will only be available to play on P.C as it as I doubt I would be able to liscence the game onto PlayStation, Nintendo or Xbox Consoles. The control scheme is quite simple however so porting will be an easy thing to do should the opportunity present itself.

Resources Required

I plan on creating all character models, obstacles and backgrounds in Adobe Illustrator and then will create the final game in Unity.
